Marquette Council 588 Knights of Columbus 2007 Grand Champions of the Sussex County King of the Grill Contest

Over thirty-five contestants both amateurs and professionals cooking up a storm with one idea in mind to be the “2007 Grand Champion” in Sussex County. The competition was fierce but when the judging was finalized District Deputy Ed Shelton and Grand Knight Kevin Cavanagh rose to the top and were declared the winners for 2007. Ed Shelton won 1st Place in the wild game division with his tantalizing creation of tenderloins of venison. It was a definite crowd pleaser by the reaction of the more than 1000 people that sampled the competitors entries. The Marquette team also won 1st Place as the best Grillers, 1st Place in the Amateur Division and the overall coveted 2007 Grand Champions of the Grill. In addition to the venison the team prepared a filet of beef and pork spare ribs to help in winning the top award
